This course in one of two research components necessary to fulfill the SEA certification. The student chooses a clinical topic of his or her choice and applies the principles of SEA to provide new understanding on physiological or physiopathological dynamics and new solutions based on acupuncture and/or herbal approaches.

This course aims at applying the student's understanding of SEA: 1. A modern illness is chosen. 2. Contemporary and classical elements are gathered. 3. The elements are integrated within SEA, a unified system. 4. A coherent hypothesis is formulated. 5. Novel treatments are suggested.

This course aims at applying the student's understanding of SEA: 1. A section of a classical text is chosen. 2. Symbols are gathered. 3. Symbols are integrated within SEA, a unified system. 4. A coherent understanding of the cipher is formulated. 5. The section of the classical text is understood.
