Systems Energetics Applied (SEA) is an emerging branch of system theories presenting a novel approach to understand the phenomena of life.

The principles and the mechanics of system energetics were first worked out in the 1970's and 1980's by Dr. Maurice Mussat. Since then the model has been used to understand such diverse problems as functional physiology, Chinese medicine physiology, logics of meridians, psychology, pathology, fundamental genetics, and logical approach to ancient philosophical texts. The literature of system energetics applications comprises more than 20 books and many dozen of papers published with translations into several languages. System energetics groups are active in Quebec, the United States, and several European countries.

Over the past two decades there has also been significant expansion in the teaching programs and materials devoted to system energetics. Programs presenting some aspects of SEA exist in the USA but are only accessible to physicians wishing to receive an education in acupuncture. One or two works have been published in English, as well as a growing number of articles, generally written by american physicans who followed the "Acupuncture for Physicians" program.

The purpose of the curriculum in energetics of systems provided through us is to propagate this unique teaching to all professional groups that can benefit from it. The importance of this model appears fundamental in various fields, including but not restricted to that of Oriental Medicine. In an effort to render this teaching more accessible, the curriculum will be supported by academic works and fascicles.

Systems Energetics Applied: A Revolution in the understanding of Acupuncture

At the level of acupuncture, Energetics constitutes a demonstration of traditional theories on physiology and pathology presented in the classical works on acupuncture. Among the concepts provided by the classics, SEA suggests an explanation for the following aspects:

  • Anterior Heaven of Fu Xi
  • Posterior Heaven of Wen Wang
  • Six Energetic Layers of Zhang Zhong Jing
  • Five phase dynamics
  • Logical understanding of the Triple Heater
  • Logical understanding of the spatial disposition of the main meridians
  • Logical understanding of the other meridians
  • Logical understanding of the eight extraordinary meridians
  • Clinical applications
  • Trigrammatic coding of acupuncture points and therapeutic implication
  • Logical understanding of the deep meridian pathways
  • Logical understanding of "Stems and Branches"
  • Logical integration of the trigrams, hexagrams, and hence the Yì Jīng.
  • And so forth.
